Maritime CIO Forum & Mobile Connectivity Events to Cross-Promote in 2019

London, UK, , Jan. 28, 2019 – Digital Ship and the GVF-EMP Partnership have announced a collaborative cross-promotion of events programmes taking place during February 2019 in London. The cross-promotion will reflect the close scheduling of the respective events, as well as the closely-related themes in the communications on the move (CotM) ecosystem.

GVF-EMP Mobile Connectivity 2019: Air, Sea, Surface, Rail – Evolving the New “New” Verticals will take place at ETC Venues, 8 Eastcheap, London EC3M 1AE on 27 February and Digital Ship’s Maritime CIO Forum London 2019 will take place at The Waldorf Hilton, London on 28 February.

Mobile Connectivity 2019 is supported by the GVF-EMP Portfolio Corporate Sponsors Comtech EF Data, Hughes, Newtec, and iDirect.

In a joint statement Cathy Hodge, Events Director with Digital Ship and Paul Stahl, Executive Director of EMP, noted “The close scheduling of the Maritime CIO Forum event with the Mobile Connectivity programme will offer a dual attendance opportunity for delegates. The two programmes are complementary and synergistic and leveraging their calendar proximity brings all-round benefits.”

Martin Jarrold, Chief of International Programme Development with GVF, noted that “GVF and Digital Ship have enjoyed a long-standing partnership, as have the GVF and EMP, within which GVF has contributed satellite industry perspectives on various maritime connectivity and maritime cyber security themes. Continuation of this relationship, where appropriate, to encompass cross-promotions of related conference subjects, is a rational step.”

Whilst the Maritime CIO Forum programme focuses on disruptive technologies – together with the evolution and development of new and interconnected platforms – which now offer unparalleled opportunities for growth and collaboration within shipping and the related transport and supply chain infrastructures, the Mobile Connectivity 2019 event – for which around fifty key connectivity suppliers have already confirmed attendance – will examine some of the key themes, technological developments, and market trends that feature on the path to a universal via-satellite connectivity ecosystem, analysing latest developments in the satellite communications marketplace, the paradigm-changing launch of more-and-more high throughput satellite (HTS) payloads into geostationary orbit, and soon beyond current MEO orbital assets, to multiple LEO constellations, and the enablement of a multitude of new, awe-inspiring vertical markets.
