London, September 3, 2010--The satellite industry is taking a positive step forward in supporting the maritime community through the creation of the GVF Maritime Satcom Forum. This new working group, being spearheaded by the GVF, includes the top manufacturers, network operators and service providers in the industry.

Hong Kong, August 4, 2010-- The CASBAA Convention 2010 to be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hong Kong on October 25th – 28th will be focusing on digital content delivery. This year’s theme is “Unlock Your Networks” and it aims to connect the dots between Platforms, Channels, Technologies and Partnerships.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, August 4, 2010--The opening plenary session of the IBC2010 conference will feature an address by Sir Michael Lyons, the chairman of the BBC Trust, on the future of public service broadcasting. The session also includes keynote addresses by Yoshinori Imai, vice president of Japanese national broadcaster NHK, and by Ingrid Deltenre, director general of the European Broadcasting Union. All three will be subject to questioning from leading media journalist and commentator Raymond Snoddy.

Hong Kong, May 20,  2010 – The Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia will kick off the 10th  anniversary of the CASBAA Singapore Satellite Industry Forum on June 14th at the Shangri-La Hotel with a dynamic program – themed "More Than Bandwidth" – with an unrivalled list of clients, operators, satellite manufacturers and launch providers.

In 16 panel sessions over three days, we focused on two closely-related topics: delivering and monetizing video content delivered over broadband, and how traditional television distribution is evolving in response to the broadband revolution.

The 3^rd Annual GVF Oil & Gas Communications Europe Conference (O&GCE3) on 12^th & 13^th May 2010 is also the 9^th event in the global Oil & Gas Communications Series organized by GVF and UK-EMP. Continuing the Series into its fifth year, the 2010 conference takes the ‘Digital Applications & Communications Dynamics’ focus beyond the territory of the hydrocarbon-bearing sectors of the North Sea, continuing far to the north to the Arctic Ocean region.

Despite the disappointments of the Copenhagen climate talks, climate change is fast becoming a reality for business.  It is partly a matter of planning for the future.  The political battles rage on, taking different paths in different parts of the world, but the overall trend is clear.  Activities that produce greenhouse gases will be penalized economically.   More efficient use of resources from energy to water will become a high priority.  Companies face a choice of when, not if, to “go green.”
