ND SATCOM kicked off the New Year on a high note with a deal to deliver 30 exclusive SKYWAN modems to the Polish Ministry of Defence (MOD). This deal will feature the new SKYWAN 5G-SR-X, a unique solution designed for military applications taking into account extensive customer feedback. This SKYWAN version is ready to secure mission critical networks – anytime, anywhere.

Hellas Sat, a premium leading satellite operator based in Greece, awarded SpaceBridge, Canadian corporation designer and manufacturer of broadband satellite communications systems, the end-to-end VSAT project, consisting of the two VSAT Platforms that will provide fully encrypted satellite communication hybrid platform, simultaneously supporting the Star & Mesh network topology. SpaceBridge will provide two fully redundant Teleports and User Terminals to serve important and critical locations for Hellas Sat end customers.

The South Asian market, comprising the countries belonging to the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) that include Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, is one of the world’s most underserved markets for telecommunications services.  Internet penetration in the region according to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) is only 39 percent of the population of nearly two Billion as of 2020.  That’s nearly 1.2 billion unconnected people without access to broadband services.

HISPASAT, the Spanish satellite services and solutions operator and provider of the Red Eléctrica Group, is once again attending the NAB 2022 trade fair this year in Las Vegas to present its new wholesale television solution in an OTT (Over-the-Top) setting. This new service will allow pay television operators, internet service providers (ISPs) and regional content companies to offer their clients a high-quality, multi-screen entertainment service over the internet so they will not need to roll out their own infrastructure.

Isotropic Systems has instituted a strategic integration partnership with SpaceBridge — this partnership secures a fully integrated, SpaceBridge, waveform option enabling dynamic waveform selection and switching between MF-TDMA (Multi-frequency time-division multiple access), ASCPC, or SCPC (single carrier per channel), optimizing satellite resource usage.

AvL Technologies has been selected by SES to develop and produce 2.4m X-Y Ka-band transportable antennas to operate with O3b mPOWER, SES’s second-generation medium earth orbit (MEO) constellation. The antennas are now in development and a pre-production prototype is featured in AvL’s booth this week at the SATELLITE 2022 show.
