In its latest research titled, “FSS Operators: Benchmarks & Performance Review,” Euroconsult shows that 11 new FSS providers have emerged over the last five years including two in 2018. Many of these companies are state-owned national operators, which will mostly serve national interests. Twelve new satellite operators are planning to enter the FSS geostationary (GEO) market by the early to mid 2020s, including companies targeting national market such as NepalSat, and Royal Group of Cambodia.
The small satellite market accounted for US$ 3,632.4 million in 2018 and is anticipated to reach US$ 15,686.3 million by 2026, registering a CAGR of 20.1% from 2019 to 2026 according to a recent report by MarketsandMarkets. Satellites weighing below 500 Kg are known as small satellites.

NSR’s newly released Government and Military Satellite Communications, 16th Edition (GMSC16) report finds another year of growth for commercial satellite connectivity. As HTS-based services start to really take-off in the market, retail revenues are up US$ 600 million from 2017, to over US$ 5.6 Billion.
In its new survey titled, “Satellite-Based Earth Observation Market Prospects to 2028”, Euroconsult forecasts that the market for data and services derived from Earth observation (EO) satellites is expected to grow by 9.4 percent each year for the next ten years for a total upside market value of US$ 12.1 billion by 2028.
NSR’s VSAT and Broadband Satellite Markets ,18th Edition report, released today, forecasts healthy revenues in the next decade with Enterprise VSAT gaining a slight edge over Consumer Broadband, accounting for greater than 50% of total revenues.
