The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today announced the election of its 2015 Executive Committee. The SIA Board of Directors elected Stacy Fuller of DIRECTV to serve as Chair for the coming year, joined by Jennifer Manner of EchoStar, as Vice Chair, and Patricia Cooper of Intelsat, as Treasurer.
WORK Microwave, a leading European manufacturer of advanced satellite communications, navigation, defence electronics, and sensors and measurement equipment, today announced the appointment of Andreas Lermann as the new director of sales and marketing. Lermann is responsible for driving product strategy and global business development for WORK Microwave‘s SatCom, Defence, and Sensor units to increase the company's worldwide sales presence and revenue streams.
The Council of the European Space Agency(ESA) announced today the appointment of Johann-Dietrich Wörner as the next Director General of ESA, for a period of four years starting on July 1st, 2015. He will succeed Jean-Jacques Dordain, whose term of office ends on June 30, 2015. Woerner is currently Chairman of the Executive Board of DLR, the German Aerospace Center.
The GVF has appointed five members to its Board of Directors. Joining the Board are Yasir Hassan of the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ARABSAT) and Michael DeMarco of Intelsat; re-elected to the Board are Arunas Slekys of Hughes Network Systems, Jonas Eneberg of Inmarsat, and Nancy Eskenazi of SES. The five elected Directors join two seated Board Members: Simon Gray of Eutelsat and Timothy Shroyer of General Dynamics’ SATCOM Technologies.
Riedel Communications, provider of pioneering real-time video, audio, data, and communications networks, has named Robert Pennington to serve as its U.S. sales manager, broadcast, for the East Coast. In this new role, Pennington will assist customers in selecting and implementing Riedel's broad product portfolio of networked communications and signal transport solutions.
Intelsat S.A. (NYSE: I) announced today that current Intelsat President and Chief Commercial Officer Stephen Spengler has been promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today announced that SIA’s Board of Directors has appointed Tom Stroup to the position of President, effective December 15th. Stroup’s appointment follows an extensive search to replace the former President, Patricia Cooper, who departed SIA earlier this year for private industry.
ABS announced the appointment of Flavien Bachabi as the Managing Director of Africa. Bachabi will be responsible for leading the sales and business operations for the African continent.
Tedial, an independent MAM technology solutions specialist, has appointed Terry Spittle as its new Director of Global Operations and Support. Spittle will have oversight of Tedial’s Implementation Engineering, Installation and Service and Support teams. He will be responsible for defining and developing enhanced internal process infrastructure, enabling the company to support its growing worldwide customer base and partner network. Spittle will also provide a senior level liaison point for clients and project partners.
