ITU Telecom World 2014 closed its doors today following four busy days of high-level debate, networking, knowledge sharing and showcasing. A dynamic and truly diverse line-up of participants from around the world attended the event, including Cisco, Huawei, Intel, LS telcom, Nokia, Ooredoo, Rohde & Schwarz, Vodafone and ZTE, with pavilions from Argentina, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Chad, China, Hungary, Nigeria, Malaysia, Qatar, Tanzania, Thailand and Zimbabwe, while Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Rwanda came together within the Smart Africa zone on the show floor.

International Datacasting Corporation (IDC) (TSX:IDC), announced its financial results today for the nine months and third quarter ended October 31, 2014.  Revenues totaled CDN $3.0 million for the third quarter of Fiscal 2015, 19% higher than the prior year's third quarter. The increase was primarily due to a 79% improvement in product revenues, partially offset by a reduction in services revenues due to the non-renewal of the Canadian Forces Radio and Television service.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) today reported its operating results for the three months ended October 31, 2014. Net sales for the three months ended October 31, 2014 were US$ 76.4 million compared to US$ 83.4 million for the three months ended October 31, 2013. The period-over-period decrease reflects lower net sales in all three of the Company's operating segments.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced that its Board of Directors has completed a review of strategic alternatives today with the assistance of its financial advisor, Citibank, its legal counsel, Proskauer Rose, and its special counsel, Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell. After considering various strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value, including a possible merger or sale of the company, the Board has determined that the interests of the company and its shareholders will be best served by the company remaining independent.

The World Teleport Association (WTA) published its annual rankings for the Top Teleport Operators of 2014. The annual rankings of companies by revenue and revenue growth are compiled by surveying teleport operators around the world as well as referencing the published results of publicly-held companies.

The debates and conversations which started this year in Doha, Qatar, are set to continue in Europe next year, as ITU announced today that its upcoming ITU Telecom World 2015 event will take place 12-15 October in Budapest, Hungary.

Spanish satellite telecommunications operator, HISPASAT, has contracted Space Systems Loral (SSL) to build the Amazonas 5 satellite, which will provide a wide range of telecommunications services in Latin America. This new satellite constitutes an expansion of the Amazonas 4B project, to which the full capacity of the Amazonas 4A was added.

Alliant Techsystems Inc. (“ATK”) (NYSE: ATK) and Orbital Sciences Corporation (“Orbital”) (NYSE: ORB) announced that the U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”) has unconditionally cleared the proposed merger of ATK’s Aerospace and Defense Groups with Orbital.

CMMB Vision Holdings Ltd.announce that it has entered into the Share Purchase Agreement with Mr. Yu Yueh-Lung for the acquisition of 5% equity interest in Soaring Idea Holdings Limited  and an option to purchase an additional 46% equity interest in Soaring within 6 months at a consideration of US$2,000,000 and US$4,000,000 respectively.

Azercosmos OJC, national satellite operator of Azerbaijan, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with France's Airbus Defence and Space to take over the rights to operate and commercialize the SPOT 7 high resolution  optical Earth observation satellite, which was successfully launched on June 30, 2014. The satellite will be renamed as Azersky.
