Telesat today announced its financial results for the three and nine-month periods ended September 30, 2019. All amounts are in Canadian dollars and reported under International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) unless otherwise noted. For the quarter ended September 30, 2019, Telesat reported consolidated revenue of $237 million, an increase of 4% ($10 million) compared to the same period in 2018.

The boost in non-stop airline traffic between the USA and Africa is on the rise and access to the continent and its cities has as much to do with technology as it has to do with demand.  According to travel writer Shannon Sims, developments in plane construction makes it possible to fly longer routes.  And ultra long-haul flights, such as next month’s launch of a non-stop flight from Newark Liberty Airport to Capetown will provide access to South Africa three times per week.  Distances of  9,500 miles (15,300 kilometers) covered in less than 15 hours on a non-stop flight is truly a testamen

Satellite operator Thaicom Public Company Limited (THCOM), announced its financial results for the third quarter ending September 30, 2019. THCOM reported revenue from sales and services for Q3/2019 of THB 1,188 million (approximately US$ 39.37 million), down by 2.3% from Q2/2019 due mainly to the churn of broadband customers. However, the utilization and revenue of broadcast services increased 1.2% QoQ from new sales.
