Advantech Wireless, a privately-held Canadian corporation and manufacturer of Satellite, RF Equipment and Microwave Systems announced today that it has been awarded a major contract with a Civil Aviation Government entity in Latin America to provide a turnkey solution based on its state-of-the-art mesh VSAT network for Air Traffic Control and airport communication in very remote airports in the Latin American territory.

Comtech Xicom Technology has been awarded a contract for $1.1 million from a major system integrator to supply outdoor mounted, high-power amplifiers (HPAs).

The HPAs will be used in Latin America at a new earth station being built to provide direct-to-home television services. The Comtech Xicom HPAs were selected due to their high output power and overall efficiency, offering high performance at a lower operating cost than other approaches.

ND SatCom today announced that their flagship technology, the SKYWAN 7000 product family, has received the FIPS certification for the SKYWAN Cryptographic Module. The FIPS certification is awarded by the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) in the USA. The awarded FIPS certificate # 2277 documents that the Cryptographic Module SKYWAN-SE (Security Engine) meets the standards required for use in US governmental and defense applications.

Globecomm announced today that it has donated desktop computers to a school in the Tanzanian village of Selela to aid the mission of the Tanzanian Support Foundation to help small communities become more self-sufficient in education, healthcare, hygiene and clean water.  A total of 14 computers, which were last used for e-welfare support for military operations in Afghanistan, and associated equipment will reach the school in 2015.  The Foundation has also contracted with an organization called Viafrica to provide installation, maintenance and training for teachers and students.
