Managing new business challenges should encompass the entire satellite workflow and make it far easier to set up satellite antennas, reduce operator fails/ issues and ensure entire networks are continuously and automatically monitored. Integrasys has already worked and continues to do so, with a few satellite operators to drastically reduce running costs through better tools for installation and monitoring. The Yamal-601 telecommunications satellite, designed and built by Thales Alenia Space for the Russian operator Gazprom Space Systems (GSS), is now going through in orbit testing after its successful launch on May 30 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan by a Proton M/Breeze M rocket.

The satellite will provide fixed communications, broadcast and Internet access services.

Thales Alenia Space was program prime contractor, in charge of satellite design, production and turnkey delivery, along with control software for the ground segment.

In collaboration with local Internet Service Providers (ISPs), the satellite-based Wi-Fi hotspots will provide Internet access in areas of Brazil with limited connectivity.

Today, connectivity is a basic requirement for economic and social development, and satellites are a key infrastructure to bring communications to regions that are not reachable by high speed terrestrial networks.
