Avanti is a London (United Kingdom) based provider of satellite data communications services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Lately Cellular Backhaul is one of the hottest topics in the satellite industry. Spanish satellite communications operator HISPASAT, and QUANTIS, together with their Moroccan subsidiary NORTIS, a leading operator in data, voice and satellite Internet services in Spain and Morocco, have signed a contract to provide satellite broadband services in North Africa. The agreement between the two companies establishes the use of space capacity of the Ka frequency band of the Hispasat 30W-6 satellite until the end of its useful life, estimated at fifteen years, at a cost of approximately 125 million euros.
AvL Technologies has completed the construction of its new far field antenna test range near its headquarters in Asheville, NC. The new 1,600 foot range is now operational and AvL is using it to test a new 2.5M high-wind antenna system.
The new range has a 70 foot source tower with an enclosed platform. The antenna under test (AUT) tower has a lift system for placing new antennas into test position. The range is capable of testing antennas with measurements from L-band through Ka-band and reflectors ranging from 30cm to 9.0M in size.
