Elche, Spain, June 22, 2026--PLD Space, a space transportation company, announced the appointment of Hilario Albarracín, former Chairman and CEO of KPMG in Spain, as a new independent director.

This appointment, which comes just days after the incorporation of space industry pioneer Candace Johnson, underscores PLD Space’s ambition to build a Board composed of strategic profiles with international prestige. Albarracín’s arrival is key in the current phase of preparation for the commercial operations of the MIURA 5 launcher, bringing first-class experience in finance, risk management and corporate strategy.

“Continuing to strengthen our Board with a profile like Hilario’s is essential on our path toward leadership in space transportation in Europe,” said Ezequiel Sánchez, Executive President of PLD Space. “His deep expertise in corporate governance prepares us for the challenges and opportunities of large-scale commercialization,” he added.

Albarracín was Chairman and CEO of KPMG Spain from 2016 to 2021, where he built a more than 30-year career. As Chairman, he was a member of KPMG’s Global Board and of the EMA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Board. He currently serves on the Boards of Banca March, CELSA Group and LLYC, among other senior positions.
