GVF Broadband Maritime Offshore and Oceanic 2011 Conference Highlight Maritime Satcom Issues

The GVF Broadband Maritime Offshore & Oceanic 2011: Information & Communications Networking Mobility South East Asia Conference – BMSEA 2011 – drew to a close on 16th February following two days of in-depth dialogue on the application of satellite-based technologies and services to the networking communications requirem ents of the maritime industry.

The conference, held in association with InmarsatHughesNewtec, andC2SAT, with the support of Asia Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC), and in coordination with the recently established Maritime Satcom Forum – part of the Global VSAT Forum (GVF) Enterprise Working Group – was the 4th International Conference in the GVF Broadband Maritime Communications Series, and the third such event dedicated to the South East Asia maritime marketplace.

Reflecting increased cross-sector support for the annual conference, companies participating in the 2011 programme included eight ship owner/ship management companies – bringing the total of such organisations that have contributed to the Broadband Maritime Conference Series over the last three years to 20 – together with 10 maritime market communications solution integrators.
