Asia-Pacific Advertising Trends

Hong Kong, April 19, 2017--Marketing and advertising plans are changing across the Asia-Pacific region, redirecting revenue and reshaping media strategies. Advertising remains a critical revenue stream for media owners, helping fund investment in content, people and technology. Digital disruption, however, is becoming a reality, in growth economies as well as developed markets.

In 2016, the internet overtook TV as Asia Pacific’s biggest medium for advertising, according to the latest analysis from Media Partners Asia (MPA).

By 2022, internet advertising will have become the first or second biggest ad medium among all major territories in Asia Pacific, MPA says. In Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan, online media will have a majority share of net ad spend by 2022
