Asia-Pacific Driving Global IPTV Growth
London, UK, February 20, 2015–The increased adoption of IPTV in the APAC region has resulted in significant growth of the Global IPTV Market, leading to a projected CAGR of 20.32 percent from 2014-2019, says research firm TechNavio.
IPTV operators in the APAC region are focused on increasing their customer base and revenue through promotional campaigns and providing services with low installation costs. China, Japan and South Korea are some of the leading revenue contributors in this region.
“Subscribers are increasingly interested in reaping the benefits of value-added services in IPTV with low installation costs,” says Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of TechNavio. “The significant penetration of broadband infrastructure and connectivity also contribute to the growth of Global IPTV Market,” he added.
The latest report by TechNavio also emphasizes the growing demand for IPTV-based converged services that bundle together internet, telephone and TV. On-screen caller identification and the ability to handle phone calls using converged services are just some examples of these services. “Furthermore, IP-based services provide consumers with anytime-anywhere access to content on their TVs, desktops and cellphones, which will be a huge market growth driver over the forecast period,” says Ghaus.
