AvL Technologies and Space Point Launch Local SATCOM Manufacturing in Saudi Arabia

Asheville, NC, September 11, 2026

Asheville, NC, September 11, 2026--AvL Technologies announced a strategic teaming agreement with Space Point to establish local production and lifecycle support for AvL satellite communications products in Saudi Arabia.

The agreement combines AvL’s antenna engineering and manufacturing expertise with Space Point’s newly built, 10,000 square-meter manufacturing and assembly facility and regional market knowledge. The Saudi operation will provide assembly, testing, calibration and quality assurance, along with local technical training, warranty service, repairs and ongoing support for defense and space-sector customers.

“This partnership represents an important investment in Saudi Arabia’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and technical workforce,” said Shuhail Alshuhail, CEO of Space Point. “AvL’s proven SATCOM technology and uncompromising standards make the company an ideal strategic partner as we build sustainable local expertise, deliver greater value to our customers and support the Kingdom’s growing space and defense sectors.”

Through hands-on training at AvL’s Asheville, North Carolina, headquarters, Saudi personnel will gain the specialized expertise needed to support a sustainable, highly skilled SATCOM workforce within the Kingdom. Continued guidance and scheduled quality oversight from AvL will ensure locally manufactured systems consistently meet the company’s global performance and reliability standards.

"Establishing local production in Saudi Arabia is an important milestone in AvL's global expansion," said David Bowne, CEO of AvL Technologies. "Our partnership with Space Point allows us to bring AvL's products and technical expertise closer to our customers while investing in Saudi talent and developing sustainable local capabilities. Together, we are building a strong foundation for local production, responsive lifecycle support and direct participation in important Saudi space and defense programs."

The initiative supports Saudi Vision 2030, the Made in Saudi program and the General Authority for Military Industries’ (GAMI) defense-localization objectives by expanding local manufacturing, developing specialized Saudi talent and transferring manufacturing knowledge. It will also give customers faster access to proven SATCOM technology, more responsive service and stronger in-country support, while positioning AvL for long-term participation in Saudi space and defense programs.

Together, AvL and Space Point are building a sustainable Saudi SATCOM capability that strengthens supply-chain resilience, supports mission readiness and creates a platform for future growth across the Kingdom and the wider region.
