Advantech Wireless Completes Successful Delivery of New 3kW C-Band Outdoor Modular Satellite SSPA System
Montreal, Canada, September 29, 2017-- Advantech Wireless, a global leader in satellite broadband communications, announced today that it has completed the delivery of its 3kW C-Band Outdoor Modular/SummitTM Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) System to a major satellite service provider.
The design of the 3kW C-Band Outdoor SSPA is based on Advantech Wireless’ industry-proven reliable Solid State Power Amplifiers and over 25 years of experience with high-reliability systems. Designed to be used as direct replacement of older generation Klystrons or TWTs these very high power, all outdoor ruggedized systems, allow operation over the entire C-band spectrum with multiple carriers.
Offering wide bandwidth and outstanding linearity, the new modular Summit systems have built-in redundancy with soft failure mode and are able to operate simultaneously on both polarizations or on a single polarization with double amount of power.
“We are very proud to be part of this truly state-of-the-art project. This new 3kW C-Band modular SSPA provides extreme flexibility for the teleport operator, with high reliability and built-in redundancy. The system can transmit either simultaneously on two polarizations, or on any single polarization with double power. This approach allows the traffic to be easily adjusted on the spot, when transponder availability is changing on the satellite, with little or no human intervention. This was never achieved with any existing technologies in the past,” said Cristi Damian, VP Global Sales & Business Development, RF and Microwave Products at Advantech Wireless.
