Nearly 50 per cent of people experience problems with their Internet at least once a day, according to a survey  by Mole Valley Farmers, in conjunction with Europasat, and sent to customers of the organisation which mostly serves farmers and rural dwellers.in the United Kingdom.

The figure paints a worrying picture of the UK’s rural broadband provision. In total, the Government has already invested £530million in to fibre broadband and former Culture Secretary Maria Miller has been reported as wanting the UK’s Internet to be among the best in the world.

Year-end figures for broadband and IPTV, published today by the Broadband Forum, show a slowing but steady growth in broadband subscribers with some significant trends in technology and regional growth in new markets. The figures, prepared by Point Topic, highlight the addition of over 40 million new users world-wide, an annual increase of 6.15%, bringing the global total up to 678,455,893.

Digital TV is finally taking off in Latin America – from only 18.1% penetration of TV households at end-2010 to just over the halfway mark by end-2014 and onto 94.5% by 2020, according to a new report from Digital TV Research. To put it  another way, 132 million digital TV households (in the 19 countries covered in the  Digital TV Latin America report) will be added between 2010 and 2020 to take  the total to 157 million. DTT will provide half of the additional digital TV homes to  be added between 2010 and 2020.

Parks Associates announced new research today predicting 4K TVs will follow a similar, but faster, growth pattern as HDTVs, which have reached 82% of U.S. broadband households after 15 years on the market. The research "4K Today: Bringing Ultra HD to Market" predicts 4K TVs will reach mass-market pricing in the next 2-3 years and top 80% of households in approximately 10-12 years.
