The call for entries for the HISPASAT 4K International Festival will on September 23rd. The competition is open to films produced in any country and in any genre (fiction, documentary, experimental, music video, institutional, etc.) with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, and shot and produced in 4K format.

Highlighting the rise in consumers' appetite for multiplay services, the TV industry has seen several providers merge and others invest heavily in broadcast rights. Multiplay services have made huge advances across Europe, with the US to follow, says global analyst firm CCS Insight. However, ahead of this year's IBC event in Amsterdam, the company warns that the TV industry will continue to face major disruption as Web brands and traditional TV providers fight to be the first to launch live TV programming in 4K.

Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, September 1, 2015

global-express-3-launch.jpegInmarsat (LSE:ISAT.L), has confirmed the successful launch of its third satellite in the transformational Global Xpress (GX) constellation. Inmarsat-5 F3 (I-5 F3), which was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 12.44pm (BST), entered orbit on August 29 at 04.15 am (BST) following a 15 hour and 31 minute mission.

Contracts on hand as ofJune 30, 2015 was valued at HK$3,645 million.

Satellite communications service provider SpeedCast today announced strong half year 2015 results for the period of January through June 2015, demonstrating double digit year-on-year growth across all major P&L metrics.

Statutory revenues grew 32% to US$ 71.7 million. Compared with 1H 2014 pro forma revenue, which includes the full period impact of acquisitions completed in 2014, total revenue grew 23%, with core service revenues growing 32% over the same period.
