HISPASAT, the Spanish telecommunications satellite operator, has signed an agreement with Telefónica in Spain for the multi-year renewal of the satellite service that the Spanish multinational offers to both companies as well as public agencies. This way, HISPASAT will continue to offer a service that it has been providing to Telefónica for more than 15 years through the European footprint of its H30W-6 satellite.

Spanish satellite operator Hispasat joins the 5GMED consortium, with a global investment of 16 million  euros of which 75% is financed by the European Commission.  The consortium aims to bring a sustainable 5G deployment model for future mobility in the Mediterranean Cross-Border Corridor. The project will be launched in September 2020 and will be implemented until November 2023.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced today that during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2020, its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., which is part of Comtech's Commercial Solutions segment, received a US$ 1.1 million order for satellite ground station equipment from a South East Asia Ministry of Defense. This initial order of SCPC modems and complementary redundancy switches is part of a network upgrade which could expand to more than 2,000 units.

HISPASAT, the Spanish telecommunications satellite operator, has reached an agreement with Altán La Red Compartida, the shared telecommunications network in Mexico, in order to provide transmission services to expand its mobile network. The Amazonas 5 satellite will provide Altán Ka band satellite links to connect 65 new base stations of its La Red Compartida.

Comtech EF Data Corp. received a US$ 1.7 million order for engineering services from Hughes Network Systems, LLC to support the Data Link Modernization (“DLM”) contract by providing new advanced satellite communications systems for the U.S. Army’s MQ-1C Gray Eagle Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). Additional orders are expected in future periods.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced today that during its third quarter of fiscal 2020, its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., which is part of Comtech’s Commercial Solutions segment, received a US$ 4.7 million contract for engineering services from a large prime U.S. Department of Defense contractor to support a critical Air Force and Army Anti-jam Modem (A3M) program under the U.S. Space Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC).
