Hispasat, the Spanish satellite communications operator, and Thales Alenia Space announced today that they are jointly working on a flying stratospheric balloon demonstration for 4G/5G telecom applications. The demonstration will test 4G/5G applications direct communications between smartphones and High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS) in October 2018 over the South of the Spanish territory.

Moscow, Russia, August 29, 2018

International satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) and Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ, TASE: GILT) have signed an $18 million contract to provide broadband connectivity across Russia. Gilat will deliver its’ multiservice platform and user terminals to operate over the new Yamal 601 Ka satellite.

The companies also signed a Cooperation Agreement for joint development of communication projects such as IFC, and railway transport.
