International satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) and Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ, TASE: GILT) have signed an $18 million contract to provide broadband connectivity across Russia. Gilat will deliver its’ multiservice platform and user terminals to operate over the new Yamal 601 Ka satellite.

The companies also signed a Cooperation Agreement for joint development of communication projects such as IFC, and railway transport.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2018, its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., which is part of Comtech’s Commercial Solutions segment, received a US$ 1.3 million order for satellite communications infrastructure equipment from a major defense contractor. The order for VSAT networking equipment will be deployed by a government entity to support a new VSAT network.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL) announced today that during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2018, its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc., which is part of Comtech’s Commercial Solutions segment, received an award of over $20.0 million from a systems integrator for millimeter-wave traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) to support a new high-speed satellite network. Products will be delivered over the next two fiscal years.
