Comtech Xicom Technology has received a contract for more than US$ 2.6 million from a domestic military system integrator.

This contract is for Ku and Ka-band high-power traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) for a transportable satellite communications ground system.

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics of Indonesia has opened for international bidding the procurement of a new multifunctional satellite that will provide connectivity to over 149,400 remote public sites consisting of schools, hospitals, state/local government, defense, and security administration around the Indonesian archipelago.

Recently established Capricorn Space Pty Ltd has secured licences from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to establish ground infrastructure in Australia to support a diverse range of satellite missions.

Founded in early 2018 and funded by the Knowles Group of Companies, Capricorn Space will now finalise site and infrastructure selection with plans to begin commercial service in early 2019. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2018, its Tempe, Arizona -based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp. , which is part of Comtech's Commercial Solutions segment, received a $2.3 million order for satellite modems from a major U.S. Department of Defense ( DoD ) contractor. The order specified the DMD2050E MIL-STD-188-165A/STANAG 4486 Edition 3 Compliant Universal Satellite Modem, which will be utilized to support the U.S. Army Project Manager (PM) Tactical Network.

Spanish satellite operator Hispasat is participating in the “Journalism Innovation Hub” project promoted by RTVE. The project has started the first operational tests as part of the 41st edition of the Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival.

The goal of this project is to progress further in the digital transformation of television news bulletins, imposed by the new audiovisual paradigm which has been conditioned by the appearance of new information technologies and the change in audiovisual content consumption habits.
