Arianespace Successfully Launches Argentina's Arsat-2 and Australia's nbn's Sky Muster

Kourou, French Guiana, October 1, 2015--Two telecommunications satellites that will provide expanded relay capacity for Australia and Argentina were orbited on September 30th on Arianespace’s ninth mission in 2015 – putting the company on track to perform a record 12 flights this year using its three-member launch vehicle family, which consists of the heavy-lift Ariane 5, medium-lift Soyuz and lightweight Vega.

 

Gilat Revises Targets for 2015

Petah Tikva, Israel, September 24, 2015 - Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ, TASE: GILT),today reported revised management objectives for 2015. Based on preliminary estimates, revenues for the second half of 2015 are expected to be between US$ 120 million and US$ 130 million and second half EBITDA is expected to be between US$ 8 million and US$ 10 million. As a result, revenues for the full year of 2015 are expected to be between US $210 million and US$ 220 million and EBITDA between US$ 6 million to US$ 8 million.

Communications & Power Industries Acquires ASC Signal

Palo Alto, Calif., Sept. 17, 2015--Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI) today acquired ASC Signal Corporation, which designs and builds advanced satellite communications, radar and high-frequency antennas and controllers. ASC Signal's high-performance antennas are used in commercial and government satellite communications, terrestrial communications, imagery and data transmission, and radar and intelligence applications.

Ericsson Enters Agreement to Acquire Envivio

Stockholm, Sweden, September 10, 2015--Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) today announced its agreement to acquire Envivio (NASDAQ:ENVI), by means of a tender offer for a price of US$ 4.10 per share in cash, or approximately US$ 125 million in the aggregate. The acquisition will strengthen Ericsson as a global innovator in enabling customers to deploy new technologies and agile video processing to innovate new services that engage TV consumers every day.

HISPASAT Poised for Growth in Latin America Thanks to the Intelsat 34 Satellite

Rio de Janiero, Brazil, , September 10, 2015--The Spanish satellite telecommunications operator HISPASAT will continue to drive services offered from the 55.5º West orbital position, thanks to the successful launch of the Intelsat 34 satellite on August 20th of this year from the European launch base at the Guiana Space Centre, located in French Guiana. Through these actions, the operator will strengthen its position in this crucial region, with a strong focus on Brazil, and continue to meet the growing demand for telecommunications services in Latin America. 

TV Industry Faces More Disruption Over the Next 12 months According to CCS Insight

London, UK, September 8, 2015—Highlighting the rise in consumers' appetite for multiplay services, the TV industry has seen several providers merge and others invest heavily in broadcast rights. Amazon Web Services to Acquire Elemental

Seattle, Wash., Sept. 3, 2015--Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS)  today announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Elemental Technologies, Inc., a software-defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery provider. The acquisition brings together Elemental’s leading video solutions with the AWS Cloud platform to provide media and entertainment companies with a range of integrated solutions to efficiently and economically scale video infrastructures as the media industry increasingly moves to internet based delivery.
