Melville, NY, August 25, 2014--Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) today confirmed that it is exploring strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value, including a possible merger or sale of the company.

ARRIS Gains, Cisco Loses in Set-top Box Market

Scottsdale, Ariz., August 20, 2014--The 2nd quarter 2014 showed about a 5% growth in set-top box revenues from a key set of major OEMs according to ABI Research. Most manufacturers saw similar sales, with ARRIS a clear winner, growing about 60% year-over-year to US$ 711 million (pro-forma based on the combined ARRIS-Motorola from the start of 2013). Cisco, however, was a clear loser, falling 30% to US$ 332 million, while Humax saw substantial revenue growth of 30%.

Double Digit Adjusted EBITDA growth at ViaSat Driven by Broadband and Mobility Services

Carlsbad, Calif., August 12, 2014 – ViaSat Inc., announced its fiscal year 2015 first quarter financial results, which included revenues of US$ 319.5 million and a new Adjusted EBITDA record of US$ 60.2 million, up 14% from US$ 52.7 million recorded in the same period last year.

ORBCOMM Reports 10% Increase in Revenues in 2nd Quarter 2014

Rochelle Park, N.J., August 7, 2014--For the second quarter of 2014, Machine-to-Machine communications provider ORBCOMM reported  total revenues were up 30.9% year-over-year to US$ 24.3 million.  Service Revenues were up 10.2% to US$ 14.9 million over the prior year. Second quarter 2014 Product Sales of US$ 9.4 million were 86.4% higher than prior year. 

DISH Network Reports Record Revenues Second Quarter 2014

Englewood, Colo., August 6, 2014--DISH Network Corp. today reported revenue totaling US$ 3.69 billion for the quarter ending June 30, 2014, compared to US$ 3.49 billion for the corresponding period in 2013. Subscriber-related revenue increased 5.6 percent to US$ 3.65 billion from US$ 3.45 billion in the year-ago period.

Intelsat Reports Second Quarter 2014 Results

Washington, D.C., August 4, 2014--Intelsat S.A. today reported total revenue of US$ 615.7 million and net income attributable to Intelsat S.A. of US$ 66.8 million, or $0.53 per common share on a diluted basis, for the three months ended June 30, 2014.  The company reported adjusted net income per diluted common share1 of $0.76 for the quarter.

Mobile Media Revenue to Reach US$ 380 Billion by 2018

Boston, Mass., August 4, 2014--Strategy Analytics’ forecast, Global Mobile Media Forecast: 2001-2018, predicts spending on consumer mobile media services consumed via the handset (which excludes tablet spend) including handset browsing, mobile applications, mobile games, mobile music, mobile video, mobile TV, ringtones, wallpapers and alerts - will rise from just above $236 Billion in 2013 to approach US$ 380 Billion by 2018.

DIRECTV Revenues driven by U.S. ARPU growth of 4.6% and Strong Latin America Subscriber Growth

El Segundo, Calif., July 31, 2014--DIRECTV  today reported that second quarter 2014 revenues increased 5% to $8.11 billion, reported operating profit before depreciation and amortization(OPBDA) increased 3% to US$ 2.15 billion, reported operating profit increased 5% to US$ 1.42 billion and reported diluted earnings per share increased 35% to $1.59 compared to last year's second quarter.

Telesat Reports 5% Increase in Revenues in 2Q 2014

Ottawa, Canada, July 31, 2014-- Telesat Holdings Inc. today announced its financial results for the three and six month periods ended June  30, 2014.  For the quarter ended June 30, 2014, Telesat reported consolidated revenue of CDN$ 226 million, an increase of 5% (CDN$10 million) compared to the same period in  2013.
