Joint GVF Maritime Satcom Forum and InterManager ‘Maritime Insights’ Program at Sixth International Conference

Singapore, January 24, 2012-- Broadband Maritime Offshore & Oceanic 2012: Information & Communications Networking Mobility South East Asia’, the joint GVF-EMP Partnership and InterManager ‘Maritime Insights’ conference will take place on 14th-15th February 2012 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore.

This, the 6th event in the GVF-EMP conference series on maritime broadband communications, will be the first to feature the extended ‘Maritime Insights’ dialogue, bringing together discussion of both satellite broadband-supported information and communications technologies (ICTs) and applications that fulfil mission-critical needs in the maritime sector, together with shipping industry discussion of its Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Standards.

The ‘Maritime Insights’ initiative, designed to promote and advance optimisation in the use of broadband solutions for seafarers, brings together the programmes of the GVF Maritime Satcom Forum and InterManager – the international ship-management association – and has, as of the date of this release, attracted the participation of more than 30 key communications solution provider companies and organisations from the global shipping/ship management industry, including:

Paul Stahl, Managing Partner of EMP, noted that “The conference is being held in association with key satellite companies providing communications solutions in the maritime space, Inmarsat (Principal Sponsor) and Hughes (Guest Sponsor). Their support, and that of our speakers and delegates, affords us the opportunity to offer maritime communications solution providers and shipping industry end-users, an opportunity to further their dialogue as to exactly how the satellite industry can best match its solutions to the growing requirements of the maritime sector for broadband-based applications. We are delighted with the degree of interest in the content of both days of this conference from the shipping and ship management community, with companies registering thick and fast, often with management-board level representatives. It is worth monitoring the event home-page, which is up-dated daily, where registered attending organisations are listed.”
