Euroconsult Publishes "The Space Economy Report"

Paris,  France, December 12, 2019--Euroconsult released “The Space Economy Report “ previously named Satellite Value Chain. This report brings together a selection of key trends and indicators on the global space market from Euroconsult’s reports, complemented by dedicated research on the commercial satellite business to provide a consolidation of the commercial satellite revenues.

In addition, the report includes dedicated sections on satellite manufacturing & launch services, satellite communications, earth observation, and satellite navigation. 
 
Some key highlights from year 2019:

  • In 2018, consolidated commercial revenues of the satellite value chain totaled $298 billion, posting a 5-year CAGR of 7% from 2013 and expected to reach $485 billion in 2028 with a 10-year CAGR of 5%.
  • The commercial upstream segment, combining revenues from commercial activities in manufacturing, launch services and ground segment, posted growth of 4% over the past five years, and accounted for 3% of consolidated commercial satellite revenues in 2018 ( $8 billion). The segment is estimated to total $11 billion by 2028, following a 4% 10-year CAGR.
  • The commercial downstream segment, which includes operations and satellite services, had revenues of $290 billion in 2018, representing 97% of the total commercial market and posting a 7% CAGR from 2013. The segment revenues are forecasted to reach $474 billion in 2028 with a 5% 10-year CAGR.
