Intersputnik at the International Astronautical Congress in Baku

Moscow, Russia, September 25, 2023 - Intersputnik will participate in the 74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2023), which will be held from 2 to 6 October 2023 in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan. Intersputnik is honored to become a silver sponsor for this important and respected event in advancing the global space industry and to present its exposition. 

As envisioned by the organizers, IAC 2023 will bring together more than 5,000 decision makers and key representatives of the global space community, ready to share the full potential of space for the benefit of humanity. Intersputnik, following the principles of open and equal cooperation, actively supports the initiatives of the Congress organizers and uses its technical and intellectual resources to develop space technologies to improve the quality of life of people around the world. 

Intersputnik's booth will be located in the exhibition pavilion of the Baku Convention Complex at stand No. 418. On the opening day of the Congress, Monday 2 October 2023, a presentation of paintings by young Azerbaijani artists will take place at the Organization's stand (starting from 13:10). 

A multinational team of young talents from Intersputnik Member States and Signatories will be working at the Organization's stand throughout the exhibition.

As part of the IAC 2023 business program, several sessions covering the most significant areas of space industry are planned. 
The plenary session Space 2030: Policies and Strategies in the Global Space Economy will discuss policy changes in response to new trends in the space economy. A constructive dialogue is expected among Governments, industry, private sector, academia and society to effectively address emerging challenges in the space ecosystem.

A separate panel will discuss how space technology can be used in disaster prevention and management. 

The International Astronautical Federation, the main organizer of the Congress, will hold a session on sustainable space. Representatives of national space agencies will be able to present their views on sustainable space activities. Related issues will be touched upon by a panel where operators will discuss opportunities for cooperation and coordination. 

Investment in space technology, both private and public, is the most important driver of the entire space industry. What do investors focus on when making decisions? How to convince politicians, new investors, and the public of the need to develop space applications? A separate discussion on these topics will be held at IAC 2023. 

Moderators and attendees of the Congress comprise high-level representatives from key national space agencies and space industry organizations, including the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos), the Space Agency of the United Arab Emirates, the National Centre for Space Studies of France, the United Nations Operational Satellite Applications Program (UNOSAT), the Turkish Space Agency, the UK Space Agency, the Israeli Space Agency, the Australian Space Agency, the Canadian Space Agency, NASA, the Indian Space Research Organisation, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and others.

The venue for IAC 2023 will be the Baku Convention Complex, which includes the Baku Convention Centre, the Heydar Aliyev Centre and the exhibition pavilion.
