New Report from WTA, “Inside the Top Operators,” Provides Valuable Insights into Market Trends for Teleport Operators
New York City, NY, November 3, 2020--The World Teleport Association (WTA) today released Inside the Top Operators, an annual report on growth, pricing changes, the state of competition and how leading teleport operators are responding to the trends.
“This is the 16th edition of a report that drills into the operating results, mix of customer segments and pricing experience of the world’s largest and fastest-growing independent teleport operators,” said executive director and report author Robert Bell. “Before the arrival of COVID19, operators were seeing improved operating results – especially those focused on data markets, while satellite capacity prices declined, as did the spending on capacity as a major cost of sales.”
WTA members can access the report for free by signing in to their accounts on the WTA website. Non-members may purchase the report for $450. Members may directly download the report by following this link.
More about Inside the Top Operators
The teleport industry is not large by global standards, but it plays an outsize role in connecting the networks and applications in the sky with terrestrial suppliers and users of services. Since 2004, WTA has published its Top Teleport Operator rankings based on an annual survey of operators as well as review of financial data from publicly-traded firms. From this information, WTA publishes rankings of the Global Top Operators by revenue including independents and satellite/fiber operators; the Independent Top Operators by revenue excluding satellite/fiber operators; and the Fast Operators based on year-over-year revenue growth, including independents and satel-lite/fiber operators. The Top Operators respondents not only provided financial data for the past two complete fiscal years but also shared information on trends in markets, pricing and services at the end of the 2019 calendar year.
