OTT is for Christmas, But Not Always for Life’, says New Paywizard Research

London, UK,  December 9, 2015 – Over-the-top (OTT) TV will be a big hit for consumers this Christmas, with 52% of viewers around the world planning to use an online TV service during the festive season. This is according to a new Research Now study, commissioned by Paywizard, the expert in subscriber management for pay-TV. But, although a hit at Christmas, operators like Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix will lose many of their festive gains, with 45% of subscribers planning to cancel their subscriptions immediately or within six months.

Nearly 8% of U.S. Broadband Households Bought a 4K TV in 2015

Dallas, Tex., December 3, 2015--Parks Associates research finds that by mid-2015, more Samsung 4K TV sets were sold than any other brand. Samsung accounted for 28% of 4K TV purchases made within the last 12 months to U.S. broadband households. Best Buy was the leading retailer, capturing more than 40% of 4K TV purchases. Of the remaining brands, 17% of consumers who purchased a 4K TV in the past 12 months bought an LG, 13% bought a Sony, and 11% purchased a Vizio.

Adoption of Internet-connected CE Reach 57% of Western European Broadband Households

Dallas, Tx., November 24, 2015--Parks Associates today announced results for its landmark consumer research project Connected Consumer in Europe, which surveyed broadband households in the U.K., Germany, Spain, and France to track adoption and future purchase plans of IoT, smart home, and connected entertainment solutions. The project found that approximately 9% of these Western European broadband households own at least one smart home device and 57% own at least one Internet-connected CE device.
