Aaron Shourie Joins Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton
Washington, D.C., October 11, 2016--Aaron Shourie has joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as a special counsel in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group and as a member of the Communications Team.
Shourie’s practice focuses on providing transactional and regulatory advice to international and domestic companies in the telecommunications and aerospace industries, with a particular emphasis on satellite, satellite-related and media companies. He represents clients in M&A, cross-border transactions (particularly North and South America, Europe, Middle East and Asia), joint ventures, complex commercial and licensing agreements, technology transactions and corporate matters.
Shourie leverages over twelve years of global satellite industry experience gained as a senior legal executive at SES S.A., a world-leading satellite operator, in his representation of satellite operators, customers, manufacturers, and launch service providers in complex transactions, including satellite procurement, launch services and insurance, major customer contracts, hosted payloads, condosat arrangements, spectrum use agreements and joint orbital slot and spectrum development opportunities.
Shourie recently moved to the D.C. area after having spent several years in Luxembourg where he served as Vice President, Legal Services at SES. Mr. Shourie started at SES in 2004 and held several positions with the company, including VP, Corporate Counsel. Prior to joining SES, Mr. Shourie was a Business and Finance associate at a New Jersey-based firm. Additionally, he spent one year managing contracts, consulting services and external affairs for American Express. After graduating from The George Washington University School of Law in 1996, Aaron served for four years as an attorney/officer in in the U.S. Air Force, Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Department.
