José Julián Echevarría Named Managing Director of Aerospace for the SENER Group

​Madrid, July 6, 2018 --  José Julián Echevarría has been as the new Managing Director of the Aerospace area of the SENER Group,  which now comprises the entire TRYO Aerospace & Electronics group and the previous SENER’s Aerospace business unit.

TRYO Aerospace & Electronics group comprises the TRYO Aerospace Flight Segment company and RYMSA RF, which, in turn, owns 99.8% shares of the company Radiación y Microondas México, S.A. de CV and 20% shares of the North American Mega Industries LLC company.

José Julián Echevarría, who was previously in charge of SENER’s Aerospace business unit, becomes Managing Director of all aerospace activity within the SENER group, now with a more industrially-focused vocation in Space and Defense, reinforced capabilities in aerospace communication systems, around 700 people and a jointly turnover of 120 million Euros.

José Julián Echevarría has had a long career path in SENER, a group he joined in 1989 and where he has been working professionally ever since. He began as an engineer in the Structures and Mechanisms Section and in 2004 was appointed Director of Operations of Aerospace in Bilbao and later held the same position for the entire SENER Aerospace business unit. In 2013, he was appointed General Manager for this business unit.

After the acquisition of the TRYO Aerospace & Electronics group, he has been chosen Managing Director of the recently created Aerospace area of the SENER group. He holds a degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería (ETSI) (Higher College of Technology) in Bilbao and a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Deusto.

The main aerospace activities undertaken by SENER are: Space, where it develops electromechanical components and systems, navigation systems (GNC/AOCS), communications systems, and Astronomy and Optics; Defense, with electromechanical systems, communications systems and helicopter modernization services; and Aeronautics, with engineering services and equipment and machinery manufacturing services.
