Senior Executives from Across the Industry Join the SSPI Board of Directors

New York City, NY, July 7, 2020--Space & Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) today announced the results of 2020 elections to its Board of Directors. The SSPI membership has elected four new Directors and re-elected three Directors to serve three-year terms beginning July 1. Newly elected and re-elected Directors include:

EUMETSAT Council Appoints Philip Evans as next Director-General

Darmstadt, Germany, July 2, 2020 – The Council of Europe’s operational satellite agency for weather and climate, EUMETSAT, has appointed Philip Evans as the organisation’s next Director-General for a five-year term, starting on January 1, 2021. Evans will take over the reins of the 30-Member-State organisation from Alain Ratier, who will retire at the end of 2020 after serving nine-and-a-half years as Director-General.

 

Yona Ovadia Steps Down as Gilat's CEO, Adi Sfadia Named as Interim CEO of Gilat

SSPI Appoints Thomas Van Den Driessche of ST Engineering iDirect and Nicole Robinson of SES as New Leaders on Board of Directors

New York City, NY, June 25, 2020– The Board of Directors of Space & Satellite Professionals International has appointed Thomas Van Den Driessche, President and Chief Commercial Officer of ST Engineering iDirect, as its new Chair, and Nicole Robinson, Senior Vice President for Global Government at SES, as its new President, effective July 1, 2020. Thomas succeeds David Myers, President of the Communications Sector at Peraton, who has served on the Board as a Director, President and Chair since 2013. David is stepping down at the end of his final term with the gratitude of the entire Board for his many contributions.

Globecast Americas Appoints Chris Pulis as new CTO

SES Announces Senior Leadership Team Changes

Betzdorf, Luxembourg, June 18, 2020–SES today announced that Ferdinand Kayser, who has spent nearly 20 years at SES leading the video business and is presently the CEO of SES Video, has decided to retire at the end of 2020. The next six months will allow for a full and orderly transition of executive activities directly to Steve Collar, CEO of SES, who will assume responsibility for SES’s Video business from July 1, 2020. In addition to supporting the transition, Mr Kayser will take a leading role in deepening SES’s activities across government and institutions in Luxembourg and will continue to serve as Chairman of both the SES Astra and GovSat boards.
