Paris, France, December 18, 2014--The Council of the European Space Agency(ESA)  announced today the appointment of Johann-Dietrich Wörner as the next Director General of ESA, for a period of four years starting on July 1st, 2015.  He will succeed Jean-Jacques Dordain, whose term of office ends on June 30, 2015. Woerner is currently Chairman of the Executive Board of DLR, the German Aerospace Center.

Wuppertal, Germany, Dec. 16, 2014—Riedel Communications, provider of pioneering real-time video, audio, data, and communications networks, has named Robert Pennington to serve as its U.S. sales manager, broadcast, for the East Coast. In this new role, Pennington will assist customers in selecting and implementing Riedel's broad product portfolio of networked communications and signal transport solutions.

Hauppauge, NY, December 10, 2014--It has been a year since the private equity firm Wasserstein & Co. acquired Hauppauge , NY-based provider of managed network communication solutions Globecoom.  We spoke to Globecom's CEO to give us an update on their company and where its going after the acquisition.  Excerpts of the interview follows:

Washington, D.C., December 9, 2014–The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today announced that SIA’s Board of Directors has appointed Tom Stroup to the position of President, effective December 15th. Stroup’s appointment follows an extensive search to replace the former President, Patricia Cooper, who departed SIA earlier this year for private industry.

Malaga, Spain December 8, 2014–Tedial, an independent MAM technology solutions specialist, has appointed Terry Spittle as its new Director of Global Operations and Support. Spittle will have oversight of Tedial’s Implementation Engineering, Installation and Service and Support teams. He will be responsible for defining and developing enhanced internal process infrastructure, enabling the company to support its growing worldwide customer base and partner network. Spittle will also provide a senior level liaison point for clients and project partners.
