Advantech Wireless Launches AMT-50/50X High Throughput Satellite Modems with Industry Leading Carrier Echo Cancellation Technology
Montreal, Canada, April 13, 2016– Advantech Wireless, a global leader for High Throughput Satellite broadcast and broadband communications solutions, today launched the AMT-50/50X family of advanced SCPC modems with bi-directional throughputs ranging from 100Kbps to 850Mbps and industry leading carrier echo cancellation technology. These new modems support all latest DVB-S2X standard’s modulation and coding: from BPSK to up to 256APSK, delivering spectral efficiency improvements of up to 60% leading to substantial satellite bandwidth savings.
The AMT-50 supports bandwidths of up to 36Msps suitable for a 36MHz transponder including the DVB-S2X time slice number concept. The AMT-50X reaches up to 80Msps suitable for a 72MHz transponder or up to an 80MHz DVB-S2X time slice. Both models support multiple waveforms such as DVB-S/S2/S2X, Carrier Echo Cancellation and other cutting-edge features such as ASI inputs/outputs to support video, L2/L3 switch/router with a built-in QoS/PEP and CID as mandated by the FCC.
"The AMT-50 and AMT-50X High Throughput Satellite Bandwidth Saving SCPC Modems are a valuable addition to Advantech’s SCPC portfolio. Adding state-of-the-art spectral efficiency features such as Carrier-Echo-Cancellation, as well as advanced waveforms such as DVB-S2X, NS3 and NS4, these SCPC modems deliver unprecedented 40% to 60% satellite bandwidth savings over DVB-S2. Fully integrated into Advantech Wireless management systems, the AMT-50/50X are part of Advantech Wireless’ leading A-SAT-II™ satellite communications family,” said Oscar Glottmann, CMO of Advantech Wireless’ Satellite Networks Business Unit.
These new products will be on display in Advantech Wireless’ booth SU2802 at the 2016 NAB Show in Las Vegas along with a complete range of Broadcast and HTS satellite networking and RF products.
