Advantech Wireless Presents New Transmission Services for DSNG using Adaptive Satellite Access Technology Platform at SET EXPO 2014
Sao Paulo, Brazil, August 28, 2014 – Advantech Wireless Inc., a privately-held Canadian corporation and manufacturer of Satellite, RF Equipment and Microwave Systems presented a live demo of its Next Generation Discovery Adaptive Satellite Access Technology (A-SAT™) platform at SET EXPO 2014 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Visitors experienced the newest technology of transmitting information from DSNG using A-SATTM Technology.
The Advantech Wireless team demonstrated how it is possible to deploy triple play services: VoIP, data (IP) and video (streaming HD) for DSNG with lower costs and delivering maximum efficiency. The live demo included voice calls, data and HD video streaming simultaneously using SCPC and TDMA channels, switching of traffic between TDMA for SCPC carriers with the continuous support of the service.
A-SAT™ is beyond dual mode DVB-RCS/TDMA-SCPC, it monitors channel utilization and switches the satellite access method and MODCOD for the return channel in real time to dynamically maximize the space segment utilization efficiency. Additionally, by having TDMA and true DVB-S2 SCPC technologies in a single platform, the switch between traffic patterns is efficiently supported and all risks of equipment obsolescence are mitigated.
John Landovskis, Vice President PLM & Business Development, VSAT & Modem Products at Advantech Wireless states, “Equipment obsolescence is mitigated for new network deployments as the equipment will support either bursty traffic (using MF-TDMA) or streaming traffic (using SCPC) in the most bandwidth efficient access scheme.”
