C-COM Forms Partnership with Newtec
Ottawa, Canada and Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, September 3, 2014--C-COM Satellite Systems Inc. (TSX VENTURE:CMI), a leading global provider of mobile auto-deploying satellite antenna systems, announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Newtec which specializes in designing, developing and manufacturing satellite ground equipment and technologies.
C-COM's proprietary iNetVu® antenna technology has been integrated with Newtec's MDM3000 IP Satellite Modem series for the VSAT and broadcast market and is fully compliant with Newtec's Sat3Play® broadband platform and the Newtec Dialog® satcom platform launched earlier this year. These systems will be promoted for Communications on the Pause (COTP) applications through their sales and distribution channels.
"This partnership should accelerate the introduction of our iNetVu mobile antennas into new vertical markets, especially in the broadcast contribution market where Newtec has a strong presence," said Leslie Klein, President and CEO of C-COM Satellite Systems Inc.
The combination of the highly acclaimed iNetVu mobile antennas and innovative Newtec technologies is expected to open up new opportunities for both companies.
"In C-COM we have found a strong partner for COTP applications, with the same objectives as Newtec: Providing, without compromise, the latest developments in research and development to supply the best solution for our customers. We are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation," said Serge Van Herck, CEO of Newtec.
For final validation of these systems, Newtec's US partner X2nSat integrated the equipment into their platform. California-based X2nSat has been using Newtec's broadband platform (Sat3Play) to power its enterprise and Government services via the ST4G brand since February 2013.
"The certification of C-COM's iNetVu antenna technology with Newtec's IP satellite modems will further expand X2nSat's ability to deploy mobile VSAT services in the North American market," said Scott Pederson, Sales Director, X2nSat, Inc. "X2nSat believes the ease of integration with our ST4G broadband satellite network and the iNetVu platform will provide our clients with a superior equipment set to utilize on our high throughput broadband network."
