customers from across the globe. The company operates from facilities and offices in Germany, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, South Africa and KSA. AXESS specializes in designing and implementing highly customized Internet access, voice, data and video transmission connectivity solutions.

AXESS Networks has more than 15,000 active services in the world and stands for its well-known operations centers in Germany, Colombia and Peru with modern Carrier Class data centers and terrestrial interconnections to all national and international operators. AXESS infrastructure has been recognized for 7 consecutive years by the World Teleport Association within the 10 most important independent teleports in the world and also as the most important in Latin America in 2019.

AXESS applies a holistic approach and offers connectivity based on GEO, MEO, fiber and soon to be available LEO connectivity. The company’s clients can expect a one-stop solution that presents the ideal fit for their operations.

Teleport Technology of the Year: Kymeta Connectivity Solutions
In 2020, Kymeta launched its next-generation connectivity solutions, the Kymeta™ u8 electronically steered satellite antenna platform and Kymeta Connect™, a unique offering that makes satellite and cellular hybrid connectivity as easy to purchase as a mobile plan. The new antenna terminal provides a complete connectivity solution for on-the-go communications when and where needed. Redesigned with Kymeta’s software-defined, electronic beam steering technology, the u8 terminal is low profile, mounting easily on vehicles and vessels.

The Kymeta u8 and Kymeta Connect is the only land-based solution of its kind that fully supports always-on broadband communications over both satellite and cellular while mobile. This core feature, which allows the customer to connect to a satellite while on the move, combined with Kymeta’s back-end support suite of services, Kymeta Connect, results in a seamless customer experience and a product that no other satellite antenna company offers today.

Kymeta’s u8 terminal and Kymeta Connect are innovative because the industry has desired this type of solution for years and the lack thereof has been a major roadblock for mobile broadband customers, who are unable to seamlessly access mobile satellite and terrestrial services while on the move. For demanding customers like emergency responders, government, military, mobile commercial businesses, etc. constant connectivity is a must to do their jobs safely and effectively.

“Despite the Pandemic, the turnout for the 26th annual awards event was heartwarming,” said Director of Development Louis Zacharilla. “In a year when industry innovation went forward faster than ever, a closely watched, innovative tech company (funded in part by Bill Gates) and one of Latin America's most exciting new teleport ventures pointed to a future for this industry that is upbeat.”

In addition to honoring the winner from these two awards categories, WTA presented the 2021 Teleport Executive of the Year Award to Sean McDaniel, CEO of ATLAS Space Operations at the Teleport Awards Reception. The reception attendees included teleport, satellite and content distribution technology industry executives, as well as previous awards recipients from around the world. WTA’s Director of Development Louis Zacharilla emceed the event.
