Hispasat to Offer Satellite-based Wi-Fi Hotspots in Brazil in Partnership with Facebook

Madrid, Spain,  May 3, 2019 — Hispasat , the Spanish satellite communications operator, is partnering with Facebook to offer satellite-based Wi-Fi connectivity in Brazil, supported by the Facebook Express Wi-Fi platform. In collaboration with local Internet Service Providers (ISPs), the satellite-based Wi-Fi hotspots will provide Internet access in areas of Brazil with limited connectivity.

Mission Microwave Books Orders Totaling Over $12 Million in the First Quarter of 2019

Hispasat and hiSky to Offer IoT and MSS in Mexico Through Small Portable Terminals

Madrid, Spain, May 1, 2019 — Spanish satellite telecommunications operator Hispasat has completed the successful installation of a hub at its gateway in Ixtlahuaca del Rayón (Mexico) to manage the Smartellites, hiSky terminals that offer MSS (Mobile-satellite services) and IoT solutions through Amazonas 5 satellite Ka band, which covers 79% of Mexican population. Both companies signed an Agreement in 2017 to jointly commercialize this solution in Spain, Portugal, Latin America and North Africa.
