Most U.S. Homes Are Now Smart Homes

Las Vegas, Nev., January 8, 2020--A major new report by Strategy Analytics, released to coincide with this week’s CES in Las Vegas, suggests that smart homes have now become the majority in the US. According to the survey of 2642 respondents in Q4 2019, 54% of homes own at least one smart home device, with the most popular being smart speakers, interactive security systems and smart thermostats. Smart home adopters say that the main reasons for buying into the smart home products are that they are easy to use, very convenient and that they feel more secure.

During the last ten years the market changed and now all the major satellite operators both MSS and Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) providers are now offering maritime solutions with a range of frequencies from L-Band ( Inmarsat, Globalstar, Irdium) and C-, Ku-, Ka- and X-Bands ( All major satellite operators e.g. Intelsat, SES, Eutelsat, Telesat).

Commercial Space Revenues to Reach US$ 485 Billion by 2028

Paris, France, December 20, 2019 – In its latest research titled, “The Space Economy Report 2019, previously named Satellite Value Chain”, Euroconsult projects that the commercial space value chain will see steady growth over the next decade, reaching US$ 485 billion by 2028. The upstream segment, which includes commercial revenues from manufacturing, launch and ground equipment is expected to increase from US$ 8 billion in 2018 to US$ 11 billion in 2028, a growth rate of four percent per year.

Paris, France, Dec 13, 2019– In its latest research titled, “FSS Capacity Pricing Trends,” Euroconsult details pricing for traditional C-band, Ku-band and High Throughput Satellite (HTS) capacity broken out by contracts, regions, spectrum bands, and applications. The report shows that as the growth of satellite capacity on orbit slows, pricing levels per megahertz (MHz) for regular capacity and per megabits per second (Mbps) for HTS capacity have both stabilized at lower rates of decline and are projected to continue that trend through 2020.

Ericsson Projects 2.6 billion 5G subscriptions by 2025

Satellite Operators Market Survey Reveal Shifting Strategies and New Entrants

Paris, France,  November 20,  2019 – In its latest research titled, “FSS Operators: Benchmarks & Performance Review,” Euroconsult shows that 11 new FSS providers have emerged over the last five years including two in 2018. Many of these companies are state-owned national operators, which will mostly serve national interests. Twelve new satellite operators are planning to enter the FSS geostationary (GEO) market by the early to mid 2020s, including companies targeting national market such as NepalSat, and Royal Group of Cambodia.
