Cambridge, MA, July 13, 2015 – NSR’s Global Satellite Capacity Supply & Demand, 12th Edition report, released today, projects demand for more than 7,700 transponders of traditional C-, Ku-, and widebeam Ka-band FSS capacity globally by 2024. NSR also forecasts over 3 Terabits of GEO-HTS, MEO-HTS, and LEO-HTS bandwidth demand, across a series of applications ranging from data to broadband access to mobility. With growth slowing and prices declining in traditional FSS markets, NSR expects a CAGR of less than 2% for traditional FSS demand; new markets will therefore need to be tapped and new possibilities unlocked through increased bandwidth efficiencies and lower cost per bit in order to fuel organic market expansion.
Paris, France, July 9, 2015 - According to Euroconsult's newly released report, Prospects for Cellular Backhaul in Fast-Growing Economies, capacity revenues from cellular backhaul in fast growing economies could reach over $1 billion by 2025, up from around $550 million in 2014, corresponding to a 6% CAGR over the ten-year period. These numbers reflect a sustained increase in the number of sites using satellite backhaul, leading to around 37,000 sites by 2025. These forecasts also recognize a 14% CAGR in traffic carried that should reach around 150 Gbps by 2025, along with a corresponding 8% CAGR for capacity used in MHz reaching close to 45 GHz by 2025, when taking into account spectrum efficiency.

U.S. TV station owners have continued to secure higher retrans fees in recent negotiations, with strong advances made at year-end 2014 from renewals and annual step-ups in existing contracts. While U.S. TV station owners have been successful at securing rising rates, broadcast networks have also been able to extract their share of rising fees, although SNL Kagan does expect continued growth for net retrans over time.
El Segundo, Calif., June 30, 2015--Pay TV operators purchased US$ 15.3 billion worth of set-top boxes (STBs) in 2014, down from US$ 15.9 billion in 2013.
