Geneva, Switzerland,  May 11, 2022–On 17 May, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will celebrate World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) with a spotlight on older persons and health ageing. The annual celebration of information and communication technologies (ICTs) marks the founding of ITU and the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention in 1865.

London, UK, May 5, 2022--"Space…The final frontier.” When we first heard these words spoken by the ‘Star Trek’ actor William Shatner as Captain James Tiberius Kirk of USS Enterprise on television in 1966, space was indeed thought of as humankind’s final frontier. Several years before, the USSR had taken humanity’s radio technology into this frontier with Sputnik-1. In 1965, the first commercial communications satellite had been launched, and a few years later American scientists, technicians, and astronauts pushed humanity’s frontier by landing on the surface of the Moon.

World Satellite Business Week Highlight Industry Prospects Going Forward

Paris, France, December 18, 2021--Unlike the IBC, which was canceled at the last minute, World Satellite Business Week organized by Euroconsult, went ahead in December 2021 in Paris as planned.  Normally an in-person only event, held in September, the December event was both in-person and online, resulting in close to normal attendance.  Euroconsult took extraordinary precautions, including making on-site Covid-19 testing available.
