The SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition Introduces New Experiences at SATELLITE 2025 and GovMilSpace 2025

Rockville, MD – February 19, 2025 –The SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition, the premier global gathering of the space and satellite industry, returns to Washington, D.C., this March 10-13, 2025, with an expanded agenda and new experiences. New features this year include the debut of GovMilSpace, the Mobility Forum conference track, dedicated meeting space in the Meeting Hub, and networking events in the Brew Lounge, plus the Tech Forum moving to the show floor. All conference programing and the exhibit hall are in the Walter E. Honolulu, Hawaii, January 24, 2025--For someone who has attended the Pacific Telecommunications Conference (PTC) since the 1980s, the event this year proved vital to its future. Held in Honolulu from January 18 – 22, 2025, the conference blew out all records for participation. They now feature themselves as promoting not just telecom, but the broader domain of digital infrastructure. Telecom is at the center to connect islands and continents, but they have introduced aspects of computing and data, lately represented through the cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Silicon Valley, Caliif., November 3, 2024--Silicon Valley Space Week organized by Satnews Events and held in Silicon Valley, California  at the end of October, covered a variety of topics, as would be expected, but for me the discussions around Direct-to-Device (D2D) were the ones that stood out the most.

World Satellite Business Week Portends Headwinds Facing the Industry

Paris, France, September 30, 2024--Nathan de Ruiter, Partner and Managing Director Novaspace, opened this year’s World Space Business Week (WSBW), held as usual in Paris, with an interesting analogy.  He compared Starlink to Apple, and the rest of the industry to Android.  Not only is it an interesting analogy, it is one that cropped up many times, during WSBW and also during Strategies in Satellite Ground Systems (SSGS), sometimes explicitly and other times indirectly.

Holzkirchen, Germany, September 30, 2024--WORK Microwave, one of the leading manufacturers of advanced satellite communications and RF equipment, held their customer event last September at their headquarters in Holzkirchen, Germany, a picturesque town wedged between the Bavarian Alps and Munich. The two-day event featured presentations, product demos, panel discussions, a tour of their facilities and plenty of networking activities.  Over 50 participants, representing WORK Microwave's customers and partners came from as far as North America, Africa and Asia and of course, all from over Europe and the Middle East.
