Intersputnik supports ITU Global Youth Summit 2025

Geneva, Switzerland, March 5, 2025 - Intersputnik became a silver sponsor of the Global Youth Summit 2025 (GYS-25), one of the most important events of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) aiming to increase the role and image of young employees in the ICT industry. 

The Global Youth Summit is a platform for global youth to interact, share innovative ideas, strengthen the role of young employees in the development of the digital economy and ICT, build youth leadership skills and expand international industry partnerships. The 2025 Summit will be held under the theme “Amplifying youth voices in ICT for an inclusive and connected future”. 

The ITU Global Youth Summit 2025 will serve as a platform for dialogue between the youth, stakeholders and decision-makers. The event aims to harness the potential of young minds in the digital transformation of society and the global economy, contributing to the creation of a connected digital world. The Summit will produce a final report capturing youth perspectives, innovative ideas, and the challenges they face across different regions. 

As an international organisation, Intersputnik actively supports the initiatives of the ITU, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the Global Satellite Operators Association (GSOA) and other relevant international organisations at implementing and advancing space technologies to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals and enhance the quality of life for everyone on Earth. The role of youth in this process is crucial, as they will shape the digital and physical landscape of the near future. Intersputnik's sponsorship of such a significant ITU event exemplifies the efforts to eliminate regional disparities and create an equitable digital community. 

Recognising that young people will be the primary drivers of digital transformation and universal connectivity in the near future, Intersputnik also implements its youth project “Youth Far Beyond Borders”, which aims to engage talented young individuals from its Member States in implementing digital strategies. Intersputnik actively promotes the transfer of technological and management skills in satellite communications to young employees, and experience exchanges with industry leaders. In particular, as part of the Youth Far Beyond Borders project, Intersputnik offers young employees from its Member States a unique opportunity to attend ITU Global Youth Summit events (sessions, panel discussions, round tables, etc.). Members of the Intersputnik project will present their reports to colleagues from around the world and actively engage in youth discussions. 

The synergy of the ITU and Intersputnik youth initiatives is expected to transform how young employees are supported and promoted, thereby contributing to the development of their professional skills and driving the implementation of relevant digital applications that will be the basis for bridging the digital divide between the world's regions.
