Mountain View, Calif., November 1, 2023--As would be expected a broad range of topics were discussed at the Satellite Innovation held from October 21-22 in Mountain View, California.  These included Direct-to-Device (D2D), low earth orbit constellations (LEOs), supply chains, orbital debris, in-space servicing and manufacturing (ISAM) and big data.  A couple of key topics that cropped up in several panels, and stood out for me, were D2D and ISAM. The former because opinion was sharply divided and the latter because it is a relatively new segment.  In addition, two keynotes, one from Jessica Rosenworcel, FCC Chairwoman and the other from Katherine Gizinski, CEO, River Advisers (formerly known as ManSat) were particularly interesting.

Johannesburg, October 2, 2023 - Africa has abundant economic potential and the enormous uptake of digital technology socially and in the business sector, has positioned the continent for explosive growth, but there are challenges that lie in wait.  Many of these will be spotlighted at the 2023 Africa Tech Festival in Cape Town 13-16 November, along with innovative solutions all led by a line-up of headline speakers including several African government ministers.

Paris, France, October 1, 2023--Held in Paris as always, the 26th annual World Satellite Business Week (WSBW) attracted a record number of attendees: 1,500 from 50 different countries.  Unusually, Nathan de Ruiter, Managing Director, Euroconsult opened his presentation jointly with Elona, a digital assistant, who explained that Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds the key to reshaping the communications landscape, particularly with regard to network management, by predicting network congestion and dynamically allocating resources.
