ABS Appoints Flavien Bachabi as MD for Africa

Washington DC, December 9, 2014 – ABS announced the appointment of Flavien Bachabi as the Managing Director of Africa.   Bachabi will be responsible for leading the sales and business operations for the African continent.  

Tom Stroup Appointed President of the SIA

Washington, D.C., December 9, 2014–The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today announced that SIA’s Board of Directors has appointed Tom Stroup to the position of President, effective December 15th. Stroup’s appointment follows an extensive search to replace the former President, Patricia Cooper, who departed SIA earlier this year for private industry.

 

Tedial Appoints New Head of Global Operations and Support

Malaga, Spain December 8, 2014–Tedial, an independent MAM technology solutions specialist, has appointed Terry Spittle as its new Director of Global Operations and Support. Spittle will have oversight of Tedial’s Implementation Engineering, Installation and Service and Support teams. He will be responsible for defining and developing enhanced internal process infrastructure, enabling the company to support its growing worldwide customer base and partner network. Spittle will also provide a senior level liaison point for clients and project partners.

MEASAT Rehires Jarod Lopez as VP– Broadcast

Washington DC, November 12, 2014 – ABS announced the appointment of Dolores Martos as the Managing Director of the Americas.   In this position, Dolores is responsible for leading the sales, business development and operations for the Americas markets.  Dolores is based in Washington DC and reports directly to ABS CEO Tom Choi.

ITU Plenipotentiary Conference Elects Houlin Zhao as next Secretary-General

Busan, South Korea, October 23, 2014–ITU’s 19th Plenipotentiary Conference roundly endorsed Houlin Zhao of China as its next Secretary-General. Zhao will take office on 1 January 2015 for a term of four years, with the possibility of re-election for one additional four-year term. The election took place in Busan, Republic of Korea, during the Plenary session of the PP-14 conference this morning. Zhao won the position with 152 votes, from 156 ballot papers deposited. He contested the position unopposed.
