US$ 2 Billion Video Delivery Platforms Market Set to Double by 2017

Scottsdale, Ariz., August 28, 2012--TV Everywhere and Over-the-Top (OTT) video, including Comcast Xfinity, HBO Go, Netflix, iPlayer, and Sky Go are growing rapidly, according to new research by ABI Research. Making this possible are several groups of companies responsible for video delivery and management. The companies, including online video platforms (OVPs), managed video platforms (MVPs), content management systems (CMSs), and content delivery networks (CDNs) are all growing at impressive rates. On-demand TV Revenues to Rise by 54%

London, UK, August 15, 2012--On-demand TV revenues from movies and TV programs (and excluding revenues from other sources such as sports and adult and also excluding SVOD packages) will reach US$6.0 billion in 2017, up from US$3.9 billion in 2011 and US$2.3 billion in 2007, according to a new report from Digital TV Research.

Global IPTV Subscribers to Triple by end-2017

London, August 1, 2012--The number of homes paying for IPTV will rocket to 165 million by end-2017, up from 51 million at end-2011 and from only 7.5 million at end-2007, according to a new report from Digital TV Research. The Global IPTV Forecasts report estimates that China will supply 77 million (47%) of the 2017 total, up from only 14 million (28%) in 2011 and only 350,000 (5%) at end-2007.

1.3 billion Digital TV Households by 2017

London, UK, July 3, 2012-Based on forecasts for 80 countries, the number of digital TV homes will double between 2011 and 2017 to 1,323 million, according to a new report from Digital TV Research. The Digital TV World Household Forecasts report estimates that global digital penetration will climb from 48.6% at end-2011 to 86.7% by 2017.

Global STB Shipments to Reach 228 million this Year

Broadband Reaches 600 Million Subscribers Milestone

Asia dominates with 42% market share

Singapore, June 20, 2012--Broadband has passed another major milestone, according to the latest figures published by the Broadband Forum and prepared by broadband industry analysts Point Topic. The global total of broadband subscribers soared to over 600 million in the first quarter of 2012, indicating a further acceleration in growth as over 100 million new lines were added (20% of the total) in less than 18 months.

85 percent of the World's Population Will be Covered by High-speed Mobile Internet by 2017

Stockholm, Sweden, June 5, 2012--Ericsson releases its second Traffic and Market Report - "On the Pulse of the Networked Society," revealing that by 2017, 85 percent of the world's population will have 3G coverage.
