Lt. Gen. John Raymond to Keynote SATCON 2015
Washington, D.C., June 24, 2015---The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced today that Lieutenant General John “Jay” Raymond, Commander, 14th Air Force (Air Forces Strategic), Air Force Space Command and Commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, will provide the keynote for SATCON, part of NAB’s Content and Communications World (CCW), on Thursday, November 12. CCW will be held November 11-12 in New York City.

During his address, which is sponsored by Intelsat General Corporation, Raymond will discuss the integration of military satellite communication with commercial aspects of the satellite and content delivery industry.
Raymond leads more than 20,500 personnel responsible for providing missile warning, space superiority, situational awareness, and launch and range operations as they relate to the U.S. Air Force’s operational space component of USSTRATCOM. As Commander of JFCC SPACE, Raymond assigns and directs space forces in support of national, USSTRATCOM and combatant commander objectives.
“Lieutenant General Raymond is a seasoned professional in the military satellite communications world,” said Chris Brown, NAB executive vice president, Conventions and Business Operations. “His wealth of experience will provide SATCON attendees with takeaways necessary to develop innovative changes and improvements to their system operations.”
After being commissioned through the ROTC program at Clemson University in 1984, Raymond commanded numerous operations groups, including the 5th Space Surveillance Squadron at Royal Air Force Feltwell in England. Raymond also served as Director of Space Forces in Southwest Asia in support of military operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Prior to this current assignment, Raymond was the Director of Plans and Policy for the United States Strategic Command.
