A Meeting Dedicated to the Development of Science, Education and Research with Representatives of Science and Educational Institutions of Azerbaijan

Baku. Azerbaijan., December 5, 2022 - The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) met with the science and educational institutions of Azerbaijan to present the 74th International AustronauticalCongress to be host by Azercosmos, an IAF member since 2018.

The meeting wil be dedicated to the importance of sharing the development of science, education and research fields in Azerbaijan and presenting it at the International Astronautical Congress 2023 in front of the international space community. The purpose of the meeting was about involving the scientists of Azerbaijan and nearby countries to get involved and participate in the Congress, which will take place in October 2-6, 2023.

Official representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and educational institutions took part in the event held at ADA University.

Azercosmos Chairman, Samaddin Asadov, noted that the International Astronautical Congress 2023 will make an important contribution to the development of the space industry in Azerbaijan, as well as give Azerbaijan and the surrounding region the opportunity to act as a leading force in the construction and development of the space ecosystem. Hosting the congress in Baku will undoubtedly be the most suitable platform for scientists working in the field of space, especially young researchers, and students. At the congress, scientists will be able to participate in more than 180 technical sessions dedicated to the possibilities of space. Detailed information is posted on the official website of the

Azercosmos invited students engaged in science and research, teachers and professors, retired teachers and researchers from higher education institutions, teachers working in secondary schools, especially teachers working in the field of STEAM education to actively participate in the International Astronautical Congress by sumbitting papers. 

The Executive Director of the International Astronautical Federation, Dr. Christian FEICHTINGER, mentioned in his speech that the Federation created a global cooperation between the member countries to promote peace by promoting space research and activity.
