SpaceCraft Tech Expo Comes to Los Angeles

Los Angeles, Calif., May 1, 2012 – Space is coming to L.A. in the form of a brand-new show called Spacecraft Technology Expo. To be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center May 8-10, this free-to-attend event is dedicated to bringing together global decision makers, engineers and the supply chain involved in spacecraft, satellite, launch vehicle and space-related technologies.

Focused on the design, build and testing of spacecraft, the expo will feature over 120 space-qualified companies promoting testing and design services, software products and component manufacturing through to complete spacecraft.


Exhibitors representing the vanguard of the industry include Boeing, ATK, Siemens, United Launch Alliance, Honeywell, Cobham Life Support and L-3 Communications, as well as companies from the new space commercial arena.


Aside from the comprehensive booth offerings, attendees can visit The Human Spaceflight Park – a dynamic area designed to promote companies and technologies involved in all areas of manned spaceflight. Visitors will be able to see the SpaceX Dragon capsule that launched in 2010 and successfully orbited the lower earth orbits, a full scale model of XCOR Aerospace’s Lynx displayed in the US for the first time, as well as exhibits from Orbital Outfitters, Boeing and United Launch Alliance.


Accompanying the show is a three-day, two track conference aimed at evaluating the latest technologies and engineering innovations. The program will bring together leading industry experts including eminent speakers such as Eric Anderson, Chairman and CEO of Space Adventures Ltd and Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of the newly-formed asteroid mining company Planetary Resources; Lt. Gen. Eugene Tattini, Deputy Director, NASA JPL, Mark Sirangelo, Chairman and Vice President, Sierra Nevada Corporation: three former astronauts and Dr. Howard Ross, Chief Technologist, NASA Glenn Research Center.
