Maritime CIO Forum & Mobile Connectivity Events to Cross-Promote in 2019

NAB to Honor Tom Taylor With Spirit of Broadcasting Award at NAB Show

Washington, D.C., Jan. 28, 2019 — The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will present the Spirit of Broadcasting Award to veteran radio industry reporter Tom Taylor during the 2019 NAB Show in Las Vegas. Taylor will accept the award on Monday, April 8 at the NAB Show Opening.

Cathy Hughes to be Inducted into NAB Broadcsting Hall of Fame

Washington, D.C., December 15, 2018-The second DC5G held in Washington DC last November 2018, was not specifically targeted at the satellite industry, and representatives were in the minority, at the conference.  It is however a subject that we cannot afford to ignore.  Plenty has been written and said about the spectrum requirements, which seem destined to have a major impact on C-Band customers in the US and probably around the world.  And Ka-Band customers may well see a similar impact.

December’s Innovative Agenda and Year-end Plaudits

London, UK, November 2, 2018--In my previous column I referenced the GVF’s contribution to the forthcoming International Telecommunication Union’s World Radiocommunication Seminar 2018 (WRS2018), December 3rd to 7th, which will take the form of a pre-Seminar Workshop Symposium, November 29th to 30th, focused on capacity building amongst the world’s regulators. A number of organizations will be supporting and contributing to the Workshop Symposium, including (at the time of writing) Hughes and SES, together with other GVF members currently finalizing their inputs.
